Winter Advisories !

Neponset Valley Child Care in Norwood and School Age Connection (before/after school) in East Walpole are programs offering full day, full year hours to provide for children with working parent(s); weather advisories are necessary to ensure that families are aware of our "Snowy Weather" guidelines.

Snowy Weather

We make every effort to open – however sometimes the weather is such that a delayed opening or closure is appropriate. If we delay the opening time for either Neponset Valley Child Care or School Age Connection a timely message  will be placed on the answering machine (by 6:30 am) giving the time at which that program will open.

Historically – opening times (towards the end of a storm) has been moved up to 7:30-8:00am to allow the streets to be cleared and made safe for driving.  If we cannot open, that message will be on the answering machine by 6:30 am, this has incurred very infrequently.

When you call, please leave a message advising us if your child will be in – otherwise we may inform staff who live a distance from NVCC or SAC to not come in!  It is important for us to maintain teacher/child ratios at all times and staff attendance on a snowy day will be based upon actual/expected attendance by 10:00 am.

*This notice is an important reminder that it is essential that you have a “back-up plan” in place for when you need to make an accommodation for your child due to Snowy Weather!

Children attending The Preschool Center's preschool or pre-kindergarten classes at 55 Rhoades Avenue, East Walpole will follow the Town of Walpole cancellation policy.

If the public school is closed then preschool and pre-kindergarten classes will be closed.

If the town delays the opening then preschool and pre-kindergarten classes will follow that same delay.
